This indenture made the eighth day of May in the year of our Lord, One thousand eight hundred and forty five. Between Daniel Cribbs of the first part and Edwin Robinson of the second part. Witnesseth, that the said party of the first part for and in consideration of the sum of eight dollars, to him in hand paid, at and before the sealing and delivery of these presents, by the party of the second part, the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged, hath granted, bargained, sold and conveyed, and does by these presents, grant, bargain, sell and convey unto the said party of the second part, and to his heirs and assigns forever, that lot or parcel of ground lying in the town of Erie, and known in the plan of said town as Lot No. One hundred and sixty-two, together with all and singular the tenements and appurtenances thereunto belonging or in any wise appertaining: and also all the estate, right, title, interest, claim or demand whatsoever of Daniel Cribbs, the said party of the first part, either in law or equity, of, in and to the above bargained premises, and every part and parcel thereof. To have and to hold to the said party of the second part his heirs and assigns, to the whole and only proper use, benefit and behoof of the said party of the second part, his heirs and assigns forever. And the said party of the first part, for his heirs, executors and administrators does hereby warrant and will forever defend, the title of the above bargained premises to Edwin Robinson, his heirs and assigns, free from the claim or claims of all and every person or persons whomsoever. As also the claims of the general government. In testimony whereof, the aforesaid party of the first part has hereunto set his hand and affixed his seal the day and year above written.
