26th Regiment Iowa Volunteer Infantry 1862 (during Andrews enlistment)
Organized at Clinton and mustered in September 30, 1862. Moved to St. Louis, Mo., thence to Helena, Ark., October, 1862. Attached to District of Eastern Arkansas, Dept. Missouri, to November, 1862. 2nd Brigade, 1st Division, District of Eastern Arkansas, Dept. Tennessee, to December, 1862.

1862-1865: Regiment lost during service, 6 Officers and 70 Enlisted men killed and mortally wounded and 4 Officers and 213 Enlisted men by disease. Total 293
